Το Asia-Europe Foundation και οι συνεργάτες του δημοσιεύουν τα ευρήματα και τις συστάσεις του 20ου Άτυπου Σεμιναρίου ASEM για τα Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα - «Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα των Ηλικιωμένων» (ASEMHRS20) που πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 22-24 Φεβρουαρίου 2021.
Η έκδοση παρέχει μια επισκόπηση των θεμελιωδών εννοιών και ορισμένων εκ των σημαντικότερων ζητημάτων που σχετίζονται με τα δικαιώματα των ηλικιωμένων σε διεθνές, περιφερειακό και εθνικό επίπεδο. Κάνει επίσης μια σειρά συστάσεων προς τα κράτη μέλη της ASEM και άλλους ενδιαφερόμενους φορείς σχετικά με τα βήματα που θα πρέπει να λάβουν υπόψη στην προσπάθειά τους να βελτιώσουν την ζωή των μεγαλύτερων σε ηλικία ανθρώπων αλλά και για την εξάλειψη των διακρίσεων λόγω ηλικίας. Επιπλέον, αναφέρει λεπτομερώς τα αποτελέσματα των συζητήσεων της ομάδας εργασίας κατά τη διάρκεια του Σεμιναρίου, η οποία επικεντρώθηκε στους ακόλουθους 4 θεματικούς τομείς:
1. Αυτονομία και Ανεξαρτησία
2. Κοινωνική προστασία και Δικαιώματα των μεγαλύτερων σε ηλικία ατόμων
3. Διακρίσεις λόγω ηλικίας με έμφαση την αγορά εργασίας
4. Ενδυνάμωση μέσω της Εκπαίδευσης

The Asia-Europe Foundation and its partners are pleased to publish the findings and recommendations of the 20th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights – “Human Rights of Older Persons” (ASEMHRS20) held on 22-24 February 2021 Online/Seoul, Korea.
The publication provides an overview of the fundamental concepts and some of the important current issues relating to the human rights of older persons at the international, regional, and national levels. It also makes a number of recommendations to ASEM member states and other stakeholders as to the steps that they may wish to consider in their efforts to improve the enjoyment by all older persons of their human rights without discrimination on the basis of older age. Furthermore, it details the outcomes of the working group discussions during the Seminar, which focused on the following 4 comprehensive thematic areas:
